Got questions about how GamePlan works? Here are the most common questions schools and brands ask us, answered in one place.
GamePlan is a sponsorship marketing partner that helps schools:
- Secure new sponsors
- Package sponsorship opportunities professionally
- Manage sponsor relationships and payments
- Generate additional funding without upfront costs
GamePlan is not a competitor to the school and does not replace existing sponsors.
You share your list of teams and opportunities that need sponsorship – from sports and choirs to productions, festivals, events and big functions.
You tell us about your advertising or digital boards, locations and rates, plus any online or event exposure you can offer.
We design clear, sponsor-ready packages matched to your school.
We approach businesses, negotiate and secure sponsors on your behalf, then send everything to you for approval.
Once approved, the sponsorship goes live and your school receives the sponsorship income.
No.
In almost all cases:
- The sponsor pays GAMEPLAN’s fee
- The school receives 100% of its agreed sponsorship amount
- No fees are payable by the school unless specifically agreed in writing
- The school contracts directly with the sponsor
- GamePlan acts as a marketing and facilitation partner
- All sponsor deliverables are agreed upfront in writing
GamePlan is not limited to sport. We can package and secure sponsors for, for example:
Sports teams and codes (rugby, netball, hockey, athletics, etc.)
Cultural teams and activities (choirs, music, drama, debating, productions)
Academics (top achiever programmes, prize-givings, academic tours)
Advertising boards and digital screens on campus
Website and social media packages
Tournaments, festivals and derby days
Golf days, fun days and other big school functions
If it’s part of your school life and visible to your community, we can usually turn it into a sponsor opportunity.
No. We’re a partner, not a rival. We add to your existing network – we do not replace it. We respect your current sponsors, honour category exclusivity where required, and build around your existing fundraising efforts instead of competing with them.
You do. Your school approves every sponsor and sponsorship package before anything is confirmed. We will never place a sponsor or campaign without your approval. This means you stay in control of which brands are associated with your school.
We take your reputation seriously. We:
Follow your brand and sponsorship guidelines
Respect school values, faith position and community expectations
Honour category exclusivity and existing sponsor agreements
Present only suitable brands for your approval
Our role is to protect and grow your school’s brand, not to risk it.
Very little. From your side we mainly need:
A list of teams, activities and events that can be sponsored
Details of available advertising spaces and channels
A contact person for approvals and practical arrangements
GamePlan then handles the sponsor outreach, contracts, deadlines, artwork and placements, and provides you with a clear summary of what was delivered – keeping things simple for your internal team.
GamePlan works on transparent commission splits. Our fee is built into the sponsorship package and paid by the sponsor, not by the school. We’ll agree the structure with you upfront so you know exactly how much your school receives from every deal.
Yes. Many brands prefer to support a group of schools or a region. Because GamePlan is a network, we can structure campaigns that cover several schools while still respecting your individual school’s rules, values and existing sponsors.
GamePlan works with schools across South Africa and is built to support both national corporates and local SMEs who want to reach school communities in a structured, professional way.
Getting started is simple:
Contact us to set up a short introductory meeting.
Share your list of teams, activities and sponsorship opportunities.

To protect fairness for all parties:
If GAMEPLAN has already engaged with a sponsor, and the sponsor later contacts the school directly, the sponsorship is still treated as a GamePlan introduced deal.
This avoids misunderstandings and ensures sponsors cannot bypass the process after proposals have been made.
Yes.
- All existing sponsors are listed upfront
- GamePlan does not interfere with them
- If GamePlan secures a new opportunity with an existing sponsor, that specific opportunity is treated as a GamePlan deal
Sponsorships take time to build.
To ensure fairness:
- Sponsors introduced by GamePlan are protected
- Renewals or expansions linked to those sponsors remain part of the GamePlan framework
- This prevents last-minute circumvention after negotiations have taken place

Put a GamePlan behind your school and let us bring the sponsors to you.
